OVERVIEW
This project focused on capturing the reality of a residential roofing installation for a local contractor. We spent the day on a job site in Salem to document the crew in action and the technical steps of the build. By moving away from staged photos, we provided the company with authentic candid imagery that shows the hard work and safety standards they bring to every home in the Willamette Valley.
OBJECTIVE
To build a library of honest, high-quality photos that show the team actually doing the work. The goal was to give the company professional assets for their website and social media that build trust with homeowners in Salem and Portland by showing their crew, their equipment, and their process.
APPROACH
We focused on a documentary style to stay out of the way of the crew while capturing the most important moments of the install.
- We photographed the tear-off and installation phases to show the scale of the project and the pace of the work.
- We captured the crew communicating and working together to highlight the human element behind the brand.
- We took close-up shots of the shingles and flashing to show the quality of the materials the company uses.
- We used a mix of ground-level shots and drone angles to show the steepness of the roof and the safety gear in use.
OUTCOME
The project provided the roofing company with a set of real-world images that set them apart from competitors using stock photography. These photos now serve as the foundation for their local marketing, proving their expertise and reliability to customers across Oregon.
