Privacy Policy

Effective Date: January 27, 2026

At Wilson Photography, we believe your privacy is just as important as your memories. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information to ensure you have a professional and transparent experience.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information that helps us provide a seamless photography experience:

  • Identity & Contact: Name, email address, phone number, and mailing address.
  • Session Details: Event dates, locations, and the names of individuals to be photographed.
  • Financial Data: Payment information is processed securely through third-party processors (e.g., Stripe, Square, or PayPal). We do not store your full credit card details on our servers.
  • Visual Content: The photographs and videos captured during your scheduled sessions.

2. Permissions and Marketing

We value your control over your image. We do not sell your data to third parties. Our marketing efforts are built on collected permissions:

  • Portfolio & Social Media: We love showcasing our work, but we only feature your images on our website, social media, or print materials after we have collected your permission. You have the right to specify if you want certain images to remain private.
  • Email Marketing: If you opt-in to our mailing list, we use your contact info to send seasonal promotions, mini-session announcements, and studio updates. You can “Unsubscribe” at any time via the link in our emails.
  • Advertising & Tracking: Our website may use cookies or tracking pixels (like Google Analytics or Meta Pixel) to understand site traffic and show you relevant advertisements.
  • Client Testimonials: With your permission, we may feature your feedback and first name in our marketing materials to share your experience with others.

3. Protection of Minors

We take the privacy of children very seriously. We do not knowingly collect or use personal data from individuals under the age of 18 without first collecting explicit permission from a parent or legal guardian.

4. Data Storage, Security, and Transfers

  • Retention: We typically retain your contact information for business and tax records. Digital image files are generally archived for [Insert Timeframe, e.g., 2 years] following your session.
  • Security Measures: We use encrypted cloud storage and password-protected galleries to prevent unauthorized access to your images and data.
  • International Transfers: To deliver your photos, we use various digital tools (e.g., gallery hosting, email software) that may store data on servers located outside of your home country.
  • Data Breaches: In the unlikely event that your data is compromised, we are committed to notifying all affected clients within 72 hours of discovery.

5. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

  • Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request that we correct or update inaccurate information.
  • Withdraw Permissions: You may withdraw your permission for us to use your images for marketing at any time. Upon request, we will remove your images from our digital platforms.
  • Do Not Track: Our website currently does not respond to “Do Not Track” (DNT) browser signals as no universal standard currently exists.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our business or legal requirements. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the “Effective Date” at the top of this document.
